songs of the weeks

The songs for this week and the next two weeks are Light Gives Heat and Even Angels Cry by Jars of clay. The main reason is they are both sort of sad sounding and about how life is sad now but it will get better eventually. I understand that there are other songs that say this same thing such as The Setting Sun or The Shadow Proves the Sunshine by Switchfoot but these songs also remind me of different experiences I've had in the past and because of that they got chosen instead. So you should go listen to them and think about their meaning. Do you think angels cry?

He is Risen!

This week I have been reminded that it is super important that Jesus came back to life after He was dead. Our lives would be completely meaningless and not worth living if Jesus stayed dead!

As requested

I am writing something instead of just puting pictures on here. Aren't you happy? I am! Today it was 70 degrees outside and winter officially ends in a week. How can you not be happy? Also I have recently discovered the secret (or at least part of it) of how to rest in God. In Matthew we are told that God will give us rest. Sometimes it seems like it is a lot of work to be constantly obeying God and being kind to others. It is also tiring to do everything we are supposed to do as Christians. But then I was standing in chapel and I had an epiphany. We aren't supposed to do anything! Nothing at all! God is supposed to do everything! I guess in a way we have to do something because we have to ask God to use us. But even that we don't do because we are completely dead beings without Him! He gives us our faith he gives us the desire to be used by Him and the ability to ask for Him! I dare you to try it! Ask God to use you. Give Him access to everything you are capable of since he already has it anyway and then rest in Him and see what happens! Based on my own experience it is really amazing! God has made so many situations better, he has filled me with His joy! I have truly felt His rest! It is AWESOME! Now obviously this doesn't mean just siting there and doing nothing. You still have to get moving so that He can use you. It just changes your perspective. If you are resting in Him he isn't going to mess up.
